Taub follow up their previous joint venture, "Bedtime Stories" with a set of magnificently conceived and equally magnificently realized soundscapes. Floating effortlessly between gentle ambience to quirky electronica and darker territories, 'The Wrong Path' isn't so much a collection of songs, or even an album, as it is a sonic adventure.
[Whisperinandhollerin]
Elements of Budd, Mancini and Barry albeit as revised by Gnac via the bitter sweet off centred souring of "Badlands". Barry is again called to mind attaching a smoked lounge like sumptuousness of "Lollipops"... while the neo sheen of "The Sawdust And The Smile" soon dissipates enveloped by a daintly cured eastern mirage which hints at a "Tin Drum" era Japan studio jam being rewired by a cosey toed and stoned pairing of Discordia and Yellow Magic Orchestra. A relaxed and understated chill toned odyssey and a hitherto classic awaiting wider acclaim.
[Losing Today]
A challenging piece of experimental, instrumental, electro-acoustic music. The different tracks take some time to unfold their many facets, so that a first cursory glance will not reveal all hidden treasures that these two artists have hidden in their songs. This is purest cinema for the soul that should appeal to aficionados of intelligent experimental music.
[DisAgreement]
Their music is decidedly odd but certainly not without its charm. By way of example, the quirky techno of "Lollipops" manages to become both sinister and cute [and] "Badlands" cleverly combines a multitude of traditional instruments (double bass, piano, cello) and bubbling electronica to create a mournful but attractive piece, which touches on jazz, pop and the avant garde. They hit more often than they miss and their invention is to be applauded.
[Leonards’ Lair]
[Dark Entries]
Melancholic pop experimental songs...
[Chain D.L.K.]
The album presents seven atmospheric and curiously experimental tracks that mix together dense electronic and organic sounds and instruments. It begins with the quite minimalistic "Slow Dance" and it's deep and twisted electronic rhythms, and it already tells you a lot about the album : the soundscape is really fleshy and professional and that the listening experience will be demanding. The album lasts for a mere half an hour, but the soundscape has such a strong layer of emotion on it that the album doesn't sound too short at all.
[Damned By Light]
Rispetto agli esordi mi pare che il duo si sia incupito: pur trattandosi sempre di elettronica molto fine e parecchio morbida le melodie e i beat suonano un po' più pesanti...
